Saffron is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus, commonly known as the “saffron crocus” .The cultivation history of saffron in Iran refers to 3000 years ago. Cultivation conditions for saffron is very special , that’s why saffron is very scarce throughout the world. This scarcity make it very special and expensive and indigenous people call it ” The Red Gold”, or “The Gold of the desert”. Natanz is a city in Isfahan province in a desert area, which has the best climate for saffron cultivation. Moreover it is counted as a historical city and has many places that are worth to visit.
In this tour we aim to visit this historical city and its saffron farm and simultaneously experience harvesting some saffron, the scarce plant of the desert.
