The Uramanat Villages are located in the mountainous Kurdistan Province of Iran(West of Iran). The villages are unique in terms of architecture, lifestyle, and agricultural methodology. Villages are integrated with nature by incorporating steep-slope agriculture.
The Uramanat Villages own a unique rural texture And as a prominent example of integration of man into the nature, the inhabitants integrated themselves into the nature through utilization of sharp slopes in agriculture.
Their authenticity and integrity can be seen in three contexts: language and dialect, lifestyle and its social administration that has a historical start point (a bas-relief) that cannot be found anywhere else.
Utilization of very sharp slopes for agriculture has been seen in Japan and China. There exists a lot of soil over there but scarcely in Uramanat.
